Landscape Each painting depicts a scene in which light filters through the leaves
of a densely populated forest. As the light penetrates the moving leaves, it radiates an energy that pulsates
through the limbs and branches of the forest. Light is reflected on the leaves and flowers, simulating
a dancing, bouquet of color. The colors are enhanced, next to the contrasting figuration of the linear
qualities of the forest. They create an atmosphere that is warm, welcoming and safe, while enticing the viewer to look up
into a breathtaking unknown.
The technique and approach to the subject matter is considerate
of a classic approach to landscape. The viewpoint alone, challenges this traditional approach.
In depicting the light of the area, the brushstrokes tend to create large, abstract applications of saturated color.
The scale of the large painting purposely increases the magnitude of the individual application of hue, mainly cadmium
orange, Naples yellow and lime green, forcing the viewer to consider color, and it’s atmospheric value.
